Wed, 13 Dec 2023 | MERGER
Concept Personnel, a specialist recruitment firm based in North Tyneside, has merged with a recruitment business in Milton Keynes as part of its expansion plans. The company has joined forces with Onyx Recruitment, with both firms aiming to broaden their offering for existing and prospective candidates and employers.
Following the merger, the new business will be called Concept Onyx Recruitment. The firm will aim to scale-up and grow rapidly over the next three to five years and both offices will undertake staffing drives to handle this planned growth.
Concept Personnel has a team of seven and provides recruitment services in the marketing, creative and digital industries in the North East of England. Onyx Recruitment is a specialist recruiter for senior interim and temporary staff in finance, accountancy, HR and operations.
Both firms will continue to focus on their specialist areas from their respective offices, while also beginning to offer a broader range of sector experience. Concept Personnel owner Jo Carter and Onyx Recruitment Managing Director Michelle Theuma (pictured together above) say they both believe that the two client bases have cross-over requirements that the merged business will be able to meet.
Concept Personnel’s client base is comprised of agencies and in-house teams in the public sector and within large corporate organisations, established businesses and start-ups. Onyx, meanwhile, serves corporate clients in London and the Home Counties, as well as elsewhere around the UK. Both businesses have been operating for 20 years.
Jo Carter of Concept Personnel said: "We have both operated successfully in our niche areas, but this merger allows us to combine skills and resources, expanding the range of services we can offer existing and new clients.”
Carter said that she had known Michelle Theuma since Concept opened a Milton Keynes office and that the two “have a likeminded, ethical approach to business, and are both committed to providing a professional, supportive service to candidates and clients.”
She continued: "The recruitment environment never stands still. Skills and demands are ever changing. What we have learned is that we must listen and react quickly and constructively to the changing needs of our clients. By doing this, we have built long-term relationships with many of our clients.”
