Scottish hotel group completes eighth acquisition

Scottish hotel group Highland Coast Hotels has completed its eighth acquisition with a deal for the Lochardil House hotel in Inverness. The four-star hotel represents Highland Coast Hotels’ first acquisition in Inverness.
Lochardil House is a Victorian mansion situated in a rural setting, with 28 rooms, ranging from classic singles and deluxe doubles to family rooms and suites. In addition, the hotel also features a dedicated venue for weddings and meetings, with a capacity of up to 200 people, as well as a restaurant and bar, which will be open seven days a week to guests and the local community.
Highland Coast Hotels CEO Guy Crawford commented: “This is a really exciting milestone for Highland Coast Hotels. Lochardil House is our first hotel in Inverness and is also part of our ongoing investment and commitment to community-led hospitality in the north Highlands.”

Since it was created in April 2021, Highland Coast Hotels has made numerous acquisitions and operates seven other properties across the region. Its other hotels are: the Kylesku Hotel, at Loch Gleann Dubh; Newton Lodge, at Loch Glencoul; Tongue Hotel, at the Kyle of Tongue, Ben Loyal and Ben Hope; Plockton Inn and The Haven, at Loch Carron; Royal Golf Hotel, Dornoch; and Royal Marine Hotel, Brora.
Robert Ratcliffe, of The Royal Golf in Dornoch, has been appointed as Lochardil House’s new General Manager.
Despite a drop in M&A activity in the travel and tourism industry last year, the hotel sector has remained resilient and demand is strong for hotel acquisitions
