Ecommerce group Velstar seals third 2024 acquisition

Liverpool-based ecommerce specialist, Velstar, has made its third acquisition this year by snapping up Scottish advertising agency Yatter for an undisclosed sum.
Edinburgh-based Yatter, founded by Gavin Bell in 2021, specialises in paid advertising, including PPC (Pay-Per-Click) and social, with a portfolio of 60 plus clients including Loch Lomond Group, Countrywide and Aberdeen Football Club. It currently manages over £10 million in annual client advertising spend and has a 12 strong team.
Founded by Dan Sheard in 2016, the Velstar group is a dedicated Shopify agency. It beat its target of reaching a £6 million turnover by this year, and following the acquisition of Yatter, is on course to generate in excess of £10 million of annual revenue in 2024 – an increase of 250 per cent since 2022.
Offering an all-round service from strategy building to copywriting and creative services, this acquisition, Velstar said, will bolster its current marketing capabilities, bringing the total headcount to more than 150 client-focused staff.
Velstar’s purchase of Yatter follows the acquisition of Leeds-based B2B agency, 9XB, in August 2024, Surrey based agency, WeTeachCRO in March 2024 and Chester based marketing agency, We Influence, in October 2022.

Cactus, a global M&A advisory and growth consultancy for founders, was the exclusive financial adviser to the shareholders of Yatter.
