A chain of orthodontic clinics has acquired London orthodontic specialist Diamond Whites to create the largest network of orthodontic clinics in the UK.
Impress, which has orthodontic clinics in Spain, Portugal, Italy, UK, France, Germany, Ukraine, and the USA acquired the London-based invisible aligner brand in a deal reportedly valued at over £30 million.
Former CEO of Diamond Whites, Ben Reed who is now the newly appointed UK CEO of Impress, said: “From this acquisition, we will continue to offer invisible orthodontic treatments of the highest quality under Impress, with a streamlined, convenient service supervised by a highly experienced orthodontic team.”
The deal comes after a £50 million Series A round which took place in May 2021. As part of this round, Impress announced that a portion of the raise was from CareCapital, Nickleby Capital, UNIQA Ventures, TA Ventures, and Bynd VC’s was specifically earmarked to expand its presence across Europe further.
Impress, which is a digitally-led orthodontics provider, will now add oral care, whitening products, and cosmetic dental treatments to its services across 60 cities in the UK and its clinics, orthodontic support and proprietary software will enable Diamond Whites to treat a variety of orthodontic patients, as well as more complex cases. Impress and Diamond Whites will also launch cosmetic dental treatments under the supervision of Dr. Richard Marques, co-founder and Clinical Director of Diamond Whites.
Diamond Whites, which was founded in 2012, with the goal of providing affordable but effective teeth whitening products to the UK, now has products stocked in leading retailers such as Tesco and Superdrug. In 2020, Reed partnered with Dr Richard Marques to launch Diamond Whites Aligners which became the highest-rated invisible aligner brand in the UK.
Reed added: “We’re extremely proud to be merging with Impress. Both Impress and Diamond Whites share a similar business vision and company values; championing innovative technology and positive patient experience.
